MapleWood Homeowners Association 2010 Budget
Many of you have inquired about what your monthly dues are used for. Below is a chart which shows where your money goes. Out of your $13.00 monthly dues, $9.50 is for trash service and it might appear at first that too much of our dues money is spent for trash service but here is some information that might change your mind. The rate that Turley’s charges for residents outside of our homeowners association is $18.00 per month, That’s $5.00 more than your total monthly dues. Turley’s also doesn’t charge any extra for our spring and fall cleanup weeks. The $9.50 monthly rate is a special negotiated rate that Turley’s and MHA have worked out.
Also, the most common request from MHA residents are for more street lights. The board agrees that this is probably the most pressing need and we are currently looking into this, but as you can see there isn’t any money available for costly improvements like this with the current dues rate.
